Short version: your answers don't leave your device. The slightly longer version follows.
Short version
Your answers to the Rice Purity Test are processed entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or analyse individual answers. We do not require an account. We do not require an email address. We do not sell, share, or rent anything about you to anyone.
What we do measure
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure a small set of aggregate, anonymous events:
- That a quiz was started (no information about who or what was answered).
- That a quiz was completed (with the final score band — Pure, Innocent, etc., not the exact number).
- Which page on the site was viewed.
- Approximate country (derived from your IP address by Google, never stored by us).
We use these signals to understand whether the site is working — how many people are starting the test, how many finish it, how many find each tier. Nothing in this set can be linked back to an individual user, and we have no way to do so even if we wanted to.
IP addresses are anonymised before they reach our analytics, per the standard Google Analytics 4 setting (anonymize_ip: true). We do not run third-party trackers, advertising pixels, or “data brokers.” There are no cookies on this site that aren’t part of the standard analytics setup.
What we don’t store
- We do not store your individual answers. Each answer is scored in your browser and then forgotten.
- We do not store your score on a server. The number you see on the result screen exists only in your browser tab. Closing the tab discards it.
- We do not store your IP address.
- We do not store any contact information about you, because we don’t collect any.
Local storage
For convenience, we save your progress through the test (which question you’re on) in your browser’s local storage, so you can resume if you accidentally close the tab. This data lives only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for ricepuritytest.page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under the age of thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect any data from anyone in that age band. The test itself is designed for older teenagers and adults.
